Inside the SA1
The SA1 is our flagship speaker, built for rooms where an ordinary hi-fi speaker simply runs out of air. It takes the ideas behind the sound systems we started with – horn loading, big drivers and plenty of headroom – and puts them in a cabinet made to live with.
Two 15in. drivers, working together
Twin 15in. woofers in a bass-reflex cabinet share the low end, so neither has to work hard to fill a big space. Two large drivers move a lot of air efficiently, giving bass with real scale and weight that stays relaxed at volume rather than straining for it.
A compression driver on a large horn
The midrange comes from a 2in. compression driver on a large-format horn and lens, covering 1.1kHz to 7kHz. Horn loading buys efficiency and control: the driver moves less for the same output, and the sound is aimed at the listener rather than the walls.
Three ways, split twice
If selected, a passive 3-way crossover splits the signal at 1.1kHz and 7kHz, handing the top octaves to a dedicated compression tweeter. Each driver only covers the range it does best.
